Are you passionate about coding, engineering, 3D printing, or hands-on building? Join us in the library during any lunch period this Thursday the 14th to learn about Northern Force Robotics, our award-winning FIRST Robotics team. As champions of last year's UNH District event and recipients of the prestigious District Impact Award, we offer opportunities to design, program, and construct robots and electronics. Whether you're into software development, mechanical engineering, or making, there's a place for you. Remember, that's this Thursday in the library during any lunch period. See you there!

The Young Founders Lab is an opportunity for interested students to work one-on-one with mentors from organizations like Google, Microsoft and Bain to solve a social problem and build a revenue-generating a start-up of your own; this is a great opportunity for interested students to work with established entrepreneurs and professionals! The Young Founders Lab is a real-world start-up bootcamp based on incubators such as the Y-Combinator. Students work in groups or individually to build a revenue-generating start-up - through the program, students will have a group of founder mentors, and will work with a small group of other students or individually to work on your start-up idea. The program is open to all students who are currently enrolled in high school, however, the program does have a selection process that involves an interview. The Winter Regular Application Deadline is November 24, 2024. For any students interested in learning more about the University of Maine Augusta or Prescott College, college reps from each school will be here on the following days: University of Maine Augusta - Thursday, November 21st at 10 am Prescott College - Friday, November 22nd at 1:00 pm Both visits will take place in the Guidance Office; please stop by for a pass beforehand if you're interested in speaking with either of these college reps!

We had 10 NHS members volunteer as poll workers between October 30 and Election Day! They processed absentee ballots and helped manage the process at many levels!

Just a reminder to our GHS RamPAGE Book Club members that our next meeting is Tuesday the 12th right after school in the library at 2:10. We will be discussing the first half of Circe (pronounced Sir-Sea) by Madeline Miller. Anyone who has read the book before, or would like to participate is welcome to join! If you have questions please see Mrs. Bowers in Ram Lab or Mrs. Tibbetts in the library. We hope to see you!

Beach clean up tomorrow hosted by Eco Club at Pine Point beach from 3-4pm. Community service hours are available. gloves and bags will be provided. Ask Mrs. Engling or Mr. Ornstein if you have any questions. Transportation will not be provided.

Yarn Club Fundraiser

GHS student leaders worked with Superintendent Perry today to provide feedback on our work to make Gorham Schools the best they can possibly be. We absolutely value our students' voices!

There will be an informational sign-up meeting for all students interested in participating in indoor track and field on Thursday, November 14 at 2:15 in Mr. Catherina's room. Anyone interested in signing up for track this season should attend. New members are encouraged to sign-up, and track is a great way to stay in shape for other seasons. Please email Mr. Tanguay or Ms. Stone with any questions. We look forward to seeing you at the Track sign-up meeting on Thursday, November 14 after school in Cat's room.

Effects of Screen Time and Children’s Mental Health Join our mental health series. Is your child's screen time affecting their mental health? Research shows a direct link between an increase in device usage and a spike in anxiety and depression. This session covers: 1. How to talk to your child about screen time and their mental health 2. Four strategies to protect your child's mental health, including setting boundaries and guidelines and establishing replacement activities This session takes place on November 21st at 7 and 9 PM.
